Teacher's self-reflection as part of his/her pedagogical competencies

This diploma thesis deals with self-reflection of a teacher as one of his key pedagogical competencies. The theoretical part is dedicated to defining a teacher as a reflective teacher. In this part, the significance of a self-reflection in a teacher's work and its influence on his consequential pedagogical activities is emphasised. This thesis describes various methods of self-reflection that teachers can use when self-reflecting. Selfreflection of teacher's work can be an incentive towards improving his further work and contribute to professional growth of a teacher and his lifelong learning. The practical part of this thesis is focused on frequency of self-reflection, its timing, use of self-reflective methods and consequent use of information found.

Bachelor thesis The Teaching Profession in the Changing Context of the Current School wants to contribute to a better understanding of the process of professionalization of teaching with emphasis on the key role of professional standard, which significantly defines the nearest state of development, both professionals and the profession, in social, economic and strategic terms. On the example of the UK I would like to show the potential risks associated with the adoption of the standard. Examines selected projects, which can significantly affect the development of the teaching profession in the Czech Republic. The last part of this thesis investigates the opinions of teachers in selected parts of a professional standard of teacher quality (Rámec profesních kvalit učitele).
Initial Education Of Early Years Teachers And The Profession's Needs

The thesis deals with undergraduate training of kindergarten teachers. The aim is to compare the issue of preparation for the profession of kindergarten teacher from different perspectives in historical and international comparisons and reflect and analyze the needs of the profession towards initial training kindergarten teachers on the basis of theoretical concepts and statements from practice. The reaserch aims to analyze the curriculum of initial training kindergarten teachers at selected faculties of education in the Czech Republic, analyze and reflect on meeting the needs of the profession in these faculties and learn how to evaluate their students' level of development of their professional competence at the beginning of undergraduate training and at the end. Research design is a multi-case study. Working with reaserch respondents has a longitudinal character. Methods were used quantitative and qualitative methodology - questionnaire, rating scales, content analysis of documents, interview and focus group. Professional standard in the improvement of the teaching profession

1 Professional standard in the improvement of the teaching profession Abstract Many documents dealing with education policy consider professional standard one possible type of teachers' work stimulation. The absence of a document of this type is increasingly being felt in Czech educational environment. How can we support teacher's work in present conditions so that it reaches the highest possible quality? One of the possible solutions is to approach professional standard as a set of quality criteria and indicators that can be used in evaluation. This thesis develops an evaluation strategy using a professional standard that has been specified based on educational goals and objectives and school functions. By connecting quality indicators defined in the aforesaid standard with the components of teacher's professional behaviour (4 I) this thesis has developed an original evaluation strategy focused on teachers' work support. At creation of the evaluation strategy, proposed professional standards are utilised as a formative conception; they may serve namely to specify criteria of teacher's quality. Comparison of Czech and Slovak career system of pedagogical staff

The aim of the work is to find out differences and consistent solutions in the field of professional development in the Czech and Slovak career system. Basic method used in the thesis is content analysis and comparative research of the Slovak law with the proposal of the Czech law and their relevant norms. In the first two chapters, which are theoretical part, basic terms are defined: teacher and their professional development, career system and its parts. Results of the comparative research of both laws and other relevant documents are presented in the third chapter. The subchapter 3.7 includes findings from the comparative research summed up in the answers on research questions. The results of the findings prove that career systems of both countries coincide in many areas, which might be caused by common historical background. The most important coincidences include - application of "multi-level career structure", seeing professional development as a way to reach competences, and performing attestation as a way of proving competences for the higher career level. The specifics of teacher's education

Dissertation is focused on the continuing education of teachers in terms of the current legisla-tion of the European Union and the Czech Republic as one of the key adaptive mechanisms that ensure the ability of the education system to adequately respond to the ever changing so-cial conditions in today's globalized world. The theoretical part through the analysis of different theoretical approaches to further education, defines and describes the issue of further education of teachers, the system - specific conditions, areas and its financing. It deals with the areas of the teacher's profession, their competences, career structure and professional standards. The empirical part of this dissertation, based on empirical research, describes the system of further education of teachers both in terms of school managment, and from the perspective of teachers and it maps specific factors affecting the quality of the current further education of teachers. The further education of pedagogical employees at selected high school

The thesis deals with the further education of pedagogical employees at selected hight school. The work is divided into theoretical and empirical part. At the beginning of the first chapter are explained the basic terms. The next section is focused on legal framework that deal with further education. At the end of the theoretical part are presented some of the studies, which have already been conducted and which have investigated the opportunities of teacher´s further education and trends in that field in Czech republic and all over the world. The empirical part concentrates on the research and describes its implementation and the results and conclusions, which are derived from the research.
